There are so many wonderful blogs & websites out in the web and I wanted to post this link we came across a few years ago for "young maidens" seeking encouragement before marriage:

We had a delightful trip full of sledding, skiing, skating & sleighing up in northern Idaho. Take a trip down memory lane with us: I recently heard a young lady discuss with her friend some plans for the future of her children. Although the lady was not yet married, she had much to share about involving her children in gymnastics, soccer, etc. It brought to my memory a very wise article written by Marantha Chapman:
http://www.kindlingpublications.com/articles/maranatha/a_hope_chest_full_of_expectations.php Last week, I had a sore throat and chewed up 2 cloves of lightly baked garlic. I took a little nap and by the time I woke up, my symptoms had vanished. Once again, I'm promoting the benefits of Garlic!!
Here is a little more info for those who enjoy natural alternatives: http://www.nogreaterjoy.org/articles/general-view/archive/2006/december/01/herb-lesson-garlic/ For several years, I’ve been soooooooo blessed by several Christian ministries such as Bold Christian Living, No Greater Joy, Above Rubies (http://aboverubies.org/). A couple years ago, we had an opportunity to go to one of the Family Camps hosted by Above Rubies (see pic) and I got another boost of inspiration from this ministry that encourages wives, mothers and homemakers. Last night, I decided to re-read the manual prepared by Nancy Campbell entitled, The Power of Motherhood, (what the Bible says about Mothers). I completed the study questions few years ago, but it seemed like a good time to review the book. Again, I was so blessed by the contents of the manual, therefore I’m going to post a multi-part series with some reflections & quotes that may motivate my fellow online friends & family :-) BTW, if you’re interested in purchasing the book for your edification, please click here: http://aboverubiesbookstore.mybigcommerce.com/categories/Study-Manuals-%287%29/?sort=priceasc Note: These excerpts are used with the permission of Mrs. Nancy Campbell Feb 2011
Mishle (Proverbs) 13:20 “He who walks with the wise, shall be wise, But the companion of fools suffers evil.” Several days ago, I played a game of chess with our oldest child. I haven’t played chess with him in over a year, but I decided to give it a go. I was aware that he’s been playing chess daily with the adults in our home for several weeks, but I wasn’t aware that his chess skills had increased substantially! Needless to say, I was very humbled by his abilities. It brought to memory an influencial teaching I heard years ago by Jonathan Lindvall at Bold Christian Living. Click below to hear the message titled “Dare to Shelter”. http://boldchristianliving.com/listen-online/primary-messages/102---dare-to-shelter.html This experience confirmed our conviction of many years to provide opportunities for our children to be surrounded by “wise” individuals and glean from their wisdom. It truly blesses me when righteous adults clearly articulate their passion of history and current events with our oldest son. These are great memories that he can carry with him through adulthood. |
This nook is a bit of reflection and inspiration from me, a Joyful Mommy of 10 with hopes of encouraging others along their journey :)A Few Family Pics: Categories
