The girls and I had a great little outing to the mall and the dollar movies. We found some wonderful bargains at the Fabric Store that help encourage creative sewing pursuits:

Here's a thought---use your coffee pot for herbal infusions, or as I like to think of them: a dose of liquid vitamins :-)

Last week we embarked upon taking the children on a bowling excursion (see pic). We even managed to make it on the "Dollar Days" special and save big bucks! I'm hoping to plan a few more indoor outings during this northwest winter, so if you have any creative suggestions, please share :-)
I can't emphasize enough the benefit of dad giving directives to our sons. Typically, in many cultures young men are instructed by their fathers at a relatively young age. Over the years, Marlon has been able to bring the boys to work occasionally which gives them a totally different perspective then our home life. Now that we're in the field of construction, Marlon is sightly limited as to how much involvement the boys can have until they're in their mid teens. They are too young for roof inspections and appointments with clients. However, there are some simple directives that dad has given them to prepare them for the world of work.
Last week, Marlon's instruction was for our oldest son to begin reading a carpentry book and have discussions at the end of each chapter. This simple instruction has been a tremendous help in preparing our oldest to develop good work ethics. I wanted to briefly share this here to encourage you to reflect upon the goals for traiining your children & h Last week our children requested 'breakfast for dinner'. This little adjustment to our normal routine was a great way to spice up the evening.
Thankfully, our oldest daughters took delight in contributing to dinner by making omlettes --For the record, I can't take credit for teaching them this dish....Thank you Food Network & Martha Stewart :-) (Mariah's fav station) |
This nook is a bit of reflection and inspiration from me, a Joyful Mommy of 10 with hopes of encouraging others along their journey :)A Few Family Pics: Categories
